Nice changing of color~ I think you have a lot of creativity and expression in this piece; you show it by emphasizing your idea of creating a sort of "glow" for the pheonix to shine and stand out.
Some things to consider for next time:
- Be careful not to use too much "glow" effect to the point where it just looks like it's a flat glow behind items; for example, the text looks like it's just on top of a blotch of yellow. The purpose of a tracing glow is to emphsize the words in place, so an outline around the words helps to do this; otherwise, it's just a slab of yellow and text on top
- Be careful choosing "glowy" colors. I notice that there is a slight similarity between the glow of the pheonix and the pheonix itself; try to use a different color so that it can really stand out, and play with contrasts and darks/lights to really differentiate the glow and the actual "character" glowing
- Try to use anti-aliasing when cleaning up the object. You did an awesome job, but there are areas where there is a "white" outline. It's very slight, but still there, and deters from the overall presentation of the piece
Keep up the good work though; you definitely have the "artistic" mind behind the signature to take you places, which is something which cannot be improved upon necessarily by practice, but moreso a gift :] .. Learning some technicalities with each piece, I have no doubt you will improve and I look forward to seeing more work from you~
